What do Olympic-level sprint times, toddler techno, and Filipino pride have in common? If your answer is The Wiggles, you’re not wrong - at least not anymore.

Meet John and Lenny Pearce, the twin Filipino-Aussie brothers turning up the volume on children’s music in a way no one saw coming. Before they were making toddlers dance in neon-lit arenas, the Pearce twins were dominating the athletic world across Australia. But their jump from track stars to sippy cup superstars wasn’t just a career pivot, tt was a cultural reset. Born to a Filipina Mother and an Australian Father on February 25th 1991, they were inseparable growing up, dominating the sports world all across Australia. Their hardwork and dedication started at a young age where their athletic prowess really showed on the field where one brother, Lenny, competed in the 100m, Long Jump, and Triple Jump, where he was also a state and national champion for three consecutive years. John on the other hand was more known for his speed and sprinting being a top three sprinter in the pacific region in the under 18s division in the 100m, with a personal best of 10.72 seconds.
Now front and center in The Wiggles' global glow-up, the Pearce twins are injecting swag, stamina, and serious Filipino flair into a space that hasn’t seen this much energy since Fruit Salad, Yummy Yummy. And spoiler: they’re just getting started.
Like many young Filipinos in the early 2000s, their love for dance sparked from the timeless classic dance movie, You Got Served. Fast forward a few years and “the Twins” would be a part of the famous Australian dance troupe, Justice Crew, where they would debut on the fourth season of Australia’s Got Talent in 2010 and would go on to be crowned as the season four champions, securing the $250,000 prize. Their goal was to "encourage young people to follow their dreams and believe that anything is possible." They would continue that momentum and evolve from a dance group to music performers by signing a record deal with Sony Music Australia. Their hard work and persistence carried over into their music as well, with their debut single “And Then We Dance” becoming certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association(ARIA) with an amazing 70,000 copies sold. Justice Crew would later go on to have 2 more singles, “Friday to Sunday” which peaked at 18 on the ARIA singles chart, going certified double platinum at 140,000 sales. And then their third single, “Dance Withe Me” ft. Flo Ride proceeded to earn certified gold.
Fast forward to today, both John and Lenny are still passionate about creating music but their audience has gotten a little younger. Though I might add that their passion and creativity are still as innovating as ever. In 2021, John joined the world famous Wiggles, as the new purple wiggle “Big Strong John”, gaining popularity with parents in 2023 as his character on the show grew to be known for his handsome appearance and promotion of healthy habits.
His twin brother Lenny took an unconventional route but has used his passion to create a new genre of children’s music, Toddler Techno. A true pioneer in this genre, Lenny can be found throwing raves for parents and kids, playing all the hottest mixes to your kids favorite children’s tunes. Something I’ve never seen done before but as a retired festival goer, it brings out the fun for both the parents and kids alike.
Don’t believe me? Why not join the 2 million followers on Tik Tok who also enjoy Toddler Techno enough to support Lenny going on a sold out 10-show USA tour and a 15-show tour all across Australia and Asia. My favorite part is that Lenny and John both still make music together as DJ Lenny Pearce and purple wiggle Big Strong John while proudly showcasing their Filipino heritage. What a feat to represent our culture to the next generation, all around the world. So next time you’re looking for something educational and entertaining to play for your little ones, put on everyone’s favorite Filipino musical twins, John and Lenny Pearce.
